ANNETTE FIENIEG

Annette Fienieg studied Graphic Arts at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Utrecht, where she still lives and works. In 1985 she followed the techniques of dry point etching and lithography. In the final year of her training, Annette furthered the intricacies of lithography (lithography) during her apprenticeship at Peacock Printmakers in Aberdeen, Scotland. After completing her studies, Annette was invited as artist in residence by Highland Printmakers in Inverness, also in Scotland.

Today, Annette Fienieg mainly works in stencil printing. The transparent colors printed on top of each other give a watercolor-like result, characteristic of her work. Due to the fragility of the technique, the edition of her prints are small. The subjects of her prints range from landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes and portraits.

In addition to being an artist, Annette Fienieg is also active as an illustrator of children's books for various Dutch and German publishers. She has since illustrated more than eighty children's books.
