GEA KARHOF
Different worlds are melted together in the remarkable etches of Gea Karhof. Old cultures go hand in hand with 20thcentury icons. It is possible to see Donald Duck swimming among oriental figures.
On the many journeys to Greece and Egypt, Gea gets inspired for her work by the oriental impressions. Characteristics of different cultures are woven together in her hand-coloured etches. Past and present come together in the enchanting world of Gea Karhof.
Gea Karhof (1945) was educated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Her work has been purchased by the Dutch government, several ministries, towns and museums, but also in multiple national and international private collections.
