Karin Beek was surprised by the request from the Vereniging voor Penningkunst to design the 2022 annual medal. But what a special medal it has become, fitting within this year's theme: Biodiversity and Sustainability. The polar bear, the symbol of care and strength in harsh conditions. One side of the medal is moving, the other side is less cheerful. Man has his future in his hands.
