The exuberant and optimistic bronzes by Miep Maarse (1945) are a pleasure to look at. Dancing elephants, bathing hippos and playing bears characterize her work. She shapes her sculptures in a professional and original manner. The animals have recognizable human traits, because of which they emit great charm and tenderness.
Miep Maarse was trained at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Her work has featured in several exhibitions and is part of corporate as well as private collections.
