Frank Dekkers is a well-known landscapist. In his work you can see typical Dutch landscapes that don’t need anything else but the scene itself. For that reason, Dekkers never depicts any animals or human in his landscapes. The serene ambiance and the timeless character of his landscapes make them appealing to a broad range of spectators. The peace and serenity in the paintings are attractive, just as the way in which the landscapes are caught in their essence. Dekkers’ minimalistic and accurate approach give the paintings their characteristic ambiance in which a certain tension is tangible.
Frank Dekkers (1961) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht. He masters many techniques, including oil painting and etching, and received the Dutch Graphicsaward for his woodcuts.
